International Business/Marketing and Cultural Analysis of Sweden
January 16th - January 29th, 2014

This study tour (J-term trip), with Professor J.J. Shields, focuses on international business and marketing in Sweden; the largest Scandinavian country. The course will also focus on the history, culture and politics that helped transform this country into a major international trading nation.

Prior to departing for Sweden, time was spent in the classroom at Carthage College, located in Kenosha, Wisconsin. We learned about basics of international business and marketing and Swedish history and culture. The class also took a trip to Bruno Independent Living Aids, Inc. in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, which has a Swedish partner company, Autoadapt.

About Me

My name is Taylor and I am a senior at Carthage College double majoring in Marketing and Public Relations. I will graduate after this trip (January 2014); I thought this would be a great way to end college.

Some of my interests include: spending time with family and friends, kickboxing, yoga, Zumba, shopping, and traveling. My interest in traveling sparked when I did competitive cheerleading (for 10 years) because I would travel all over the United States for competitions. I also went on vacations with my family to Mexico, Canada and other places throughout the United States. Once I got to Carthage, I found out about J-term trips, which are trips taken during the month of January to places all over the world. In January 2013, I took a J-term trip to China (Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) and that was one of the best trips of my life. So when I heard about this trip to Sweden, I couldn't pass up the opportunity!

Thank you for following my blog and I hope you enjoy my Swedish adventures!
